Currently, some schools prioritize a rigid and strictly scheduled learning system, ignoring the benefits of connecting children with nature for their development. Additionally, a significant division exists between indoor and outdoor spaces, which restricts individuals from experiencing the best of both worlds simultaneously and forces them to choose between the two. This project at Ca n’Oriac school embraces the principles of biophilic design, incorporating the natural world into the existing architecture. This educational center was constructed in 1977 in a Brutalist style and occupies a twoacre plot. from nature such as vegetation, water, sunlight, and wind, and incorporating organic forms and natural reminiscences, the design establishes a strong connection with the natural world. Moreover, the project creates intermediate spaces within the school that bridge the gap between indoor and outdoor areas, enabling users to enjoy both environments at the same time.
